Easter Basket 2021
Welcome to Amateur City
Definitely did this wrong the first time around. I never grew up getting Easter baskets so when I showed up with a ton of toys and clothes for Julianne’s, Brian laughed a little too hard. I really think I was confusing Easter baskets with Christmas? So, with a little help from my other half, I was able to pull together practical AND appropriately sized gifts for Julianne’s first Easter Basket!!
Baby’s First Basket
Brian clued me in that Easter baskets aren’t actually filled with gifts but actually little tokens like candy, eggs filled with more candy, little toys and stuffed animals, etc. I guess I always imagined Easter baskets like the ones I saw at Walmart growing up, filled with soccer balls and giant teddy bears haha! So, anyways, I did end up keeping some of the clothes that I got for her. Mainly because she’s still only a year old and she’s not allowed to have Peeps and Chocolate eggs yet (choking hazard - no fun).
The bunny we put in her basket is already hers and his name is Bun Bun. We just don’t feel the need to have more stuffed animals around the house. The girl is already drowning in furry friends but I linked a few that I would have bought her if we did. This time around, though, we’ll just have Bun Bun make a guest appearance.
I picked little pouches that she loves in springy colors (yellow, green) and a box of her favorite puffs that I will throw in there day of - all in place of actual candy. The little carrots wooden toy is available on Amazon but I couldn’t link it through them so I went with the Walmart link (but go to Amazon and you’ll see it available for Prime!).
There you have it, folks! Overall, I don’t think we did too shabby. Toys she’ll actually play with, clothes she’ll actually wear, Bun-Bun who she already loves lol, and the story of Easter (which is the most important thing about the day).
I hope this helps or inspires your basket. Like I said, definitely no pro over here but happy to share as always. Love y’all and Happy Easter!!!
