Stitch Fix: How & Why

For the past 3 months I have been trying out Stitch Fix. At first, I’ll be honest, I was not interested in the concept of it but after my sister in law said it had worked for her, I decided to give it a try. Since then, I’ve scored a ton of really great items, some of which I never would have thought to buy for myself.

How It Works:

  • Start your profile and take the style quiz to show your “stylist” what your taste looks like, what size you wear, your body type, items you’re on the hunt for, items you definitely don’t want, etc.

  • Receive your first box with 4-5 items.

  • Try-on

  • Pick your faves/keeps and checkout online.

  • Pack the items you’re not keeping into the pre-labeled USPS bag and drop it off at a blue box.

  • Schedule your next fix!

Why I Do It:

  • I’m busy! I have a full time job and a baby, so as much as I love online shopping there are just things that I just like asking for with someone to deliver. (e.g. I want jeans, stitch fix sends me two pairs to try)

  • Certain things I don’t naturally gravitate towards searching for, Stitch Fix has shown me I need. The two pairs of earrings that I’ve kept are both ones that I truly wouldn’t have picked up myself but when they showed up at my door and I threw them on, I realized they were perfect.

  • It’s just fun to be surprised by clothes that I haven’t picked myself. It’s like a mini Christmas morning!
